NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information. >From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 4 Apr 2003 HARRODSBURG -- Services for Alvis Dexter "Dex" James, 32, of New Bedford, Mass., will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Little Zion Baptist Church by Phillip A. Yates. Burial will be in Robinson Roe Cemetery in Burgin. He died Sunday at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. Born May 14, 1970, in Cambridge, Mass., he was the son of Jane White James of Burgin and Robert M. James of Virginia Beach, Va. He was a graduate of University of Massachusetts with a degree in communications. He was a star track athlete in high school and college and was a self-employed contractor working with residential and commercial building. He was a model in the United States and abroad and a singer and entertainer who performed with several well-known musical artists. He was a member of Zion Union Church in Hyannis, Mass. Other survivors include four sons, Dexter, Darien, Dekaris and Diari James, all of Massachusetts; a sister, Aki-Tia James of Macon, Ga.; a brother, Mark James of Macon, Ga.; and his fianc/e, Kelli Giovanni of New Bedford, Mass. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church. Parks Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
