DEED: Adam M. Garman to Francis M. Garman, Metcalfe Co., Kentucky 1865 - October 17 - Metcalfe Co., Ky. Deed records, Book 1, pages 30-31, (note in left margin says "reentered": This indenture made and entered into this 17th day of October 1865 between Adam M Garman of the one part and Francis M Garman of the other part. Adam M Garman of the County of Metcalfe and State of Kentucky and FM Garman of the second part of the County of Cumberland and State of Kentucky witnesseth that the said AM Garman for the consideration of the sum of one thousand five hundred dollard, cash in hand paid the receipt is here of - is hereby acknowledged - have bargained sold and delivered unto the said F. M. Garman his heirs assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres lying on the East fork of Little Barron River and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at White Oak and Red Oak tree standing on the west side of the creek on the bank and on Thomas Thompson's line running Thence S25E179 poles to an ironwood and two sugar tree saplings on a hill side Thence N 65 E179 poles to three white oak tree on a hill side Thence N 25 W 179 poles to a Spanish Oak hickory and Elm trees crossing the creek at 134 poles. Thence S 65 poles W 57 poles to a white oak and beech trees Corner to Thomas Thompson thence with his line S 65 W 122 poles to the beginning also another tract containing fifty acres and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at a sugar tree and Hickory on Thompson and Laskley(?) line intersects running with said Thompson line N 25 W 148 poles crossing the East Fork and passing the aforsaid Thompson barnes to Hickory Thence S 84 E 132 poles to a Hickory elm in Said Lastley line Thence with the same S 29 W 139 poles crossing the Eastfork to the beginning The said A M Garman convays to the said FM. Garman the line ind of said tracts as divided by James Cox between his sons. John Cox and Able Cox and is as follows Beginning at the two sugar trees and from _____ mentioned as corners in the aforesaid two hundred acre survey 160 poles to the mouth of the big branch leading up the fifty acre survey thence meanders the said branch 94 poles up the line of the 200 acre survey lying north to the fifty acre survery thence meandering the branch 52 poles up to the line of the fifty acre survey cornering on two white Oakes and sugar trees Thence with that line 27 poles to two Hickories The said Garman to have and to hold the lower end of said tract as divided by James Cox to John Cox and record on the clerks record in Columbia and the said A. M. Garman agrees to and assigns to warrant, and forever defend lower end of said land of one hundred and twenty five acres be the same more or less unto the said Garman against the claims of himself or any other person(.) State of Kentucky Metcalfe County Thos. E Young Clerk of the County Court for said County for said County certify the the foregoing deed from A M Garman and Lucy Ann Garman his wife to Francis M Garman was this day produced to me duly stamped according to act of Congress and acknowledged by the said A. M. Garman to be his act and deed and the said Lucy Ann Farman his wife voluntarily acknowledged the same and consented that that it might be recorded where upon said deed and this certificate have been duly admitted to record in in my office.
