Record of Miscellaneous Instruments, Book 1,pages 146-147 (I found book in Courthouse Oct. 20, 1997):Miscellaneous "Metcalfe County Court In the matter of C. W. Thompson guardian for Forrest H. Oakes, Jacob C Oakes and George C. Oakes infant heirs of Jacob Oakes deceased, it appear that C. W. Thompson qualified in the above styled court as guardian to said parties (the infant and under the age of 21 years) on March 29th 1900 and that there came to his hands as guardian aforesaid certain sums of money for each as shown by his various settlements with the Judges of the above court of record in the clerks office of said court. Said record also show that said guardian made final and complete settlement with each of said wards and accounted by vouchers filed in said settlements for the respective account due each on the following dates Forrest H. Oakes September 21st 1901 Jacob C. Oakes April 14 1906 and George C. Oakes Jan 12 1911 They each having arrived at the age of 21 years on or before the dates aforesaid. Said settlements were filed and approve by the court and recorded as aforesaid as provided by law. Since said time, and since the maturity of said infant they each being above the age of 21 years the said heirs aforesaid by themselves and through their attorney J. U. Wade of Smiths Grove, Ky have made complaint to the said C. W. Thompson guardian aforesaid of certain over charges by way of allowance by the court to him and threatening to bring suit against him to surcharge said settlement and the parties aforesaid having reached an agreement in their differences. Now for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars ($100) to them cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said partie aforesaid do by this writing acknowledge receipt of said one hundred dollars in full satisfaction of all claims against the said C. K. Thompson as guardian aforesaid and do hereby forever bind themselves their heirs executors or assigns to forever release the said C. W. Thompson from any further or future claims against him as guardian aforesaid in consideration of the one hundred dollars foresaid. I witness whereof we have hereto subscribed our names this Feby (no day given) 1913. Jacob C. Oakes George C. Oakes State of Kentucky County of Warren Sct. I L E.
