WILL: Roger T. Franklin, 1884 - Metcalfe Co. I, Roger T. FRANKLIN, of Metcalfe County, and State of Ky. being of sound mind and disposing memory do make, this my last will and testament in manner and four as follows, to wit: 1. It is my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate after my death by me Executor hereinafter named. 2. It is my will and desire that my wife Milley T. FRANKLIN have my entire landed estate after my death, during her life time, or as long she remains my widow, and at the expiration of either, it is to be sold and equally divided among all my heirs; that is to say, Sarah E. BEARD, Mary T. BALL, Richard G. FRANKLIN, Thompson C. FRANKLIN, Nancy J. THOMPSON & Susan MITCHELL or their heirs. Mrs. Susan MITCHELL ????? five dollars, paid too or for her in my lifetime; to Thompson C. FRANKLIN($20 or) twenty dollars for a cow, which he furnished her this is to be paid out of her portion of my estate. 3. It is my will and desire that my wife, Milly T. FRANKLIN, in addition to the above desire have, out of my estate $500 or five hundred dollars for her use and benefit as long as she may live, and at her death if then be any of it left, it is to be divided among my heirs. 4. It is my will and desire, that after my death, my Executor after paying the foregoing devise sell all my personal property and together with all my cash and cash notes make an equal division amongst my heirs. 5. It is my will and desire that my sons, Richard G. & Thompson C. FRANKLIN have out of my estate, one cow & calf a peace as good as can be selected from my stock; also one bed & furniture a piece and they will furnished with bed clothes. I, also give to my wife, Milley T. FRANKLIN one bed & furniture. 6. It is to be understood that I have already in my lifetime given to my daughters, one cow & calf a piece; also one bed & furniture which is to go as a (srb?) off against those given to my sons in this will. 7. It is my will and desire and I do hereby constitute & appoint John W. BEARD & Richard G. FRANKLIN as Executors of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all other or forever will by me made, signed in presets of the subscribing witnesses, Dec. 10, 1884. Roger T. FRANKLIN, of the above County & State do make this Codicil to be added to my last will and testament that was on the 10 day of Dec. 1884. In item 2 of sd. will it is ordered that my landed estate be sold after my death and that of my wife, Milley T. FRANKLIN. It is now my will & desire that my sons, R. G. FRANKLIN & Thompson C. FRANKLIN after my death and that of their mother, have my landed estate, by paying to each one of my heirs mentioned in my will ($450.00) a piece & that this shall be as binding as though it was a deed from me, signed, this 14 day of Sept. 1885, in the presence of the subscribing witnesses.
