WILL: Asher Slemmons, 1875 - Metcalfe Co. I, Asher W. Slemmons of Metcalfe County, Kentucky do hereby make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say First It is my will and desire that so much of my personal property preferring that which is perishable as may be necessary be immediately sold after my death and the proceeds thereof applied to the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses. Should my personal property not be sufficient for that purpose then I authorize my executor herein after named to sell and convey a sufficient of my real estate for that purpose Second after the payment of my debts and Funeral Expenses as above provided for I give and bequeath to my wife Martha S. Slemmons during her natural life and widow hood my real and personal estate of every kind and diserytion but in the event she should mary then it is my will that my estate both real and personal be equally divided between my wife Martha S. and my five children viz. R. W. Slemmons, W. T. Slemmons, Mary E. Slemmons, Sarah F. Slemmons and Emily C. Slemmons and at the death of my wife Martha S. Slemmons in the event that she should or should not mary after my death it is my will and desire that my whole estate both real and personal should be divided equally between my five children above named and lastly I do hereby appoint my son R. W. Slemmons executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills & testaments by me here to fore made In testimony where of I have hereto set my hand and seal this 31st day of August 1875 Asher W. Slemmons Executor of said will Since he died I now appoint my wife Martha S. Slemmons as executor of said will given under my hand this 5th day of July 1882 Asher W.
