STONE. Feb - Same minister. Paid former sexton and hired the one above. C C CARTER's ordination service planned, asked for helps from Fountain Run, Mt. Gilead, Freedom & Tompkinsville churches. Mar - John PATTERSON preached. Harmony Church asked to participate in ordination above. Apr - Same minister. Sale of real estate of James BRANDON decd scheduled 1 May 1876 at the courthouse. Five brethren chosen to investigate a request from Sister L M GRAVES in re allowing her something out of the effects bequeathed to her by Bro James BRANDON, her former husband. William JORDAN, H S EVANS, R L LANDRUM, C C CARTER, T B NEAL appt. Oct - Same minister. Committee above failed to report so others appt: WM JORDAN, R L LANDRUM, D N JOHNSON, G W SHIVE. Polly FERGERSON granted letter of dismission. Nov - Same minister. The new committee failed to report, they were discharged. Vote taken by the church, they checked his will, no provision made to her in that regard so she shouldn't get it. James COHORN & wife Elisabeth along with John FERGERSON granted letters of dismission. Dec - F C CHILDERS preached. John PATTERSON turned in his resignation and they received it with sorrow. The wording is "any portion of the devise given by her former husband for the preaching of the gospel and to be controled by the church for that purpose."
