Pleasant Run Church on McFarland Creek was in Monroe Co. These church minutes, 
tho brief, run 1827-1844 and were transcribed by the late Eva Coe Peden. The 
church was located in the southwestern portion of the county but even the 
elderly in the 1960's had no remembrance of where it was exactly located.
Eva was able to find an old cemetery that is thought to be in the vicinity of 
where the church stood - going south on Hwy 216 from Vernon KY towards the KY-
TN state line. Only one stone is now readable - that of a Louisa Stone, d/o J G 
& Catherine; born 15 Apr 1840, died 6 May 1964. 

The church was constituted 7 June 1827 and the church name was spelled 
McFarlings Creek. Elders were shown as James FEARS, John B LONGDON. The first 
membership list in their minutes show the following names: (not dated but there 
are dismissals in 1829)
