New York Times August 3, 1882
"Louisville, Ky., Aug. 2. - A special from Glasgow, Ky., says: "Bishop EMBERTON 
and Richard SPEAKMAN, of Monroe County, charged with a crime against Mrs. J.B.
GARRETT, of Tompkinsville, on Tuesday of last week, while being brought here 
for safe keeping were shot to death yesterday 13 miles from this place."
