New ordinance in Tompkinsville making it unlawful to permit chickens, geese, ducks or turkeys to run at large, except on their own premises. If these fowl entered the premises of others without their consent, the owner was in violation and would be fined $1.00 to $5.00. A law suit was instituted against the city by attorney H H DENHAM which he won and was awarded $100. The case will be taken to the Court of Appeals with Sherman SPEAR, BAIRD & RICHARDSON representing the city. This case grew out of an attempt of the city to regulate the drainage of the street in front of DENHAM's Store. Revival at the Methodist church which had a small seating so taken to the courthouse. Marlin SWINDLE of Lafayette TN, farmer, committed suicide at his home in the Long Fork community last Tuesday, blew off the top of his head with a shotgun. No one knows why. All arrested by Sheriff HANES and Deputy Sheriff TUCKER. Bro Sam YOKLEY filled his regular appt at Freewill last Sun. Mr. P W PROFFITT has returned from his visit to his son, J W, in TN. Harvey DICKERSON died 3 Jan 1915 at the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs J W DICKERSON. Leaves a wife and 2 small children, parents, number of brothers and sisters. Laid to rest in the TURNER cemetery the following day. Dr R M EVANS who finished in the Medical Dept of Vanderbilt U last yr won the 1st honors in the KY State Board exam held at Louisville in Dec. Mrs. William PARKER of Knob Lick died at her home Tuesday of pneumonia, age 65, faithful member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs Martha MILLER has been real sick for the past 10 days, she is recovering. Cam McPHERSON of Tompkinsville has best load of cattle delivered on the stock yards in Louisville last week, brough $2,000. Flippin news: Johnie WHITE returned from Akersville. Willie HALE was guest of the family of Dr WHITE Friday. Little Mary COSBY and Versie STONE, who are attending the graded school here, visited home folks at Akersville Sat & Sun.
