Shirley Indenture: David Badger to William Nelson: Montgomery County KY Date: 31 August 1810 Deed Book 5 Page 350 This Indenture made this thirty first day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten, between David Badger and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Montgomery and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part, and William Nelson of the County and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said David Badger and Elizabeth his wife in consideration of the sum of one Dollar lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and forever acquit and discharge the said William Nelson his heirs Executors and administrators, hath granted bargained and sold to the said William Nelson a certain parcel of land lying in the County of Montgomery aforesaid and on grassy lick creek containing fifty acres and is bounded as follows towit, Beginning at a buckeye and hickay (sic), and running thence north thirty four Degrees east eighty poles to a buckeye and box elder, on the original line of thornton (sic) Farrows preemption, thence North fifty six degrees West twenty two poles to two sugartrees, hickory and elm, thence West eighty seven poles to a sugartree and white oak, thence South thirty two degrees West eighty six poles to two honey Locust trees and Elm, thence South eighty six and a half degrees East one hundred and six poles to the Beginning. With all its appurtenances; To have and to hold said parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said William Nelson and his heirs, To the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Nelson and his heirs forever and the said David Badger and Elizabeth his wife the said parcel of land with the appurtenances unto the said William Nelson his heirs or assigns, against the claim of all persons whatsoever claiming by through or under them the said David Badger and Elizabeth his wife, doth and will warrant and forever defend.
