Shirley Indenture: William & Theodocia Butler to William Dunlap: Montgomery County KY Date: 5 July 1833 Deed Book 16 Page 317 (continues on at least to 318, not transcribed) This Indenture made this 5th day of July 1833 between William Butler and Theodocia Butler his wife of the one part and William Dunlap of the other part, all of the County of Montgomery and State of Kentucky/ Witnesseth that the said Butler and wife for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred and fifty Dollars & 75 cts to them in hand paid or secured to be paid: the receipt whereof hereby acknowledged, have this day granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, unto the said Dunlap his heirs &c forever a certain tract of land, laying in said County on the waters of Brush Creek, containing Seventy two acres three roods and 11 poles (being a part of William Hays survey of 3000 acres) and bound as follows - Beginning at a fallen elm in the north side of a fork of said Creek near a branch and two Boxelders, and white ash stump, corner to Green Dejarnett thence N 63.30 degrees W with the line of John Saprington 58 ˝ poles to a fox Red hornbeam, in the line of Richard Oldham to said Sapprington & thence with Oldhams line S 20 degrees W 53 poles to a white walnut stump in said Oldhams line, thence with Hays 3000 acres survey ( as decreed) S 45 degrees E 163 poles to a white oak and black oak stump corner to said 3000 acre survey thence with the line of the same N 25.30 degrees E 106 poles to a birch and two hornbeams, corner to Green Dejarnett-thence up the west of fork of Brush Creek, with the meanders thereof N 76 degrees W 21 ˝ poles N 80 degrees W 40 poles- N 47 degrees W 52 poles to the Beginning To have and to hold unto the said Dunlap his heirs &c forever……
