Shirley Indenture: Isaac & Catharine Farrow to Edward Payne : Montgomery County KY Date: 25 September 1807 Deed Book 4 Page 354 This Indenture mad this twenty fifth day of September in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and seven between Isaac Farrow and Catharine his wife of the County of Montgomery and state of Kentucky of the one part and Edward Payne of the County of Fayette and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth: that the said Isaac Farrow and Catharine his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge have bargained sold relinquished and Conveyed unto the said Edward Payne his heirs or assigns a Certain tract or parcel of Land lying, and being partly in the County of Clark & partly in the county of Montgomery and state aforesaid It being part of a claim of one thousand acres granted to William French deceased by patent bearing date the 20 day of August 1785 & by his Cert sell and testement bequeth to Stephen French & by Stephen French Conveyed to Isaac Farrow by deed bearing date the 27" day of June 1804 Which said land is bounded as follows: to wit Beginning at a blue ash marked WF the original NE Corner of said 1000 acre claimthence south one hundred and Eighty six poles to a stake at the intersection of the Line of Edward Paynes preemption thence South fifty five W thirty three poles to a stake in said preemption said line thence West with the line of said 1000 acres one hundred & twenty two poles to a stake in the line of said preemption thence N fiftyfive W with the preemption and settlement line twenty poles to a honey locust & two hickores Corner to said settlement thence N thirty five East fifteen poles to a stake in the north line of said 1000 acres thence East five hundred & thirty poles to the beginning containing three hundred acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the same unto the said Payne his heirs or assigns forever…………
