Shirley Indenture: William D & Telitha Moore to Lafayette M Green: Montgomery County KY Date: 12 September 1870 Deed Book 31 Page 393, 394, 395 This Indenture made and entered into this 12 day of September 1870. by and between William D Moore and Telitha Moore his wife, parties of the first part, and Lafayette M Green, party of the second part, both parties being of the county of Montgomery, and State of Kentucky; Witnesseth: That the parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand and Thirty Seven dollars ($1037) paid and to be paid to them by the party of the second part, in two payments, the first payment of Five Hundred and Eighteen dollars and 50 cents ($518.50) paid in hand the receipt of which is hereby fully: and the second and last payment of Five Hundred and Eighteen dollars and 50 cents ($518.50) to be paid on the 25th day of December 1870, have bargained, sold and conveyed, and do by this indenture, grant bargain, sell and convey unto the party of the second part their whole entire right title and interest in, and to a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County and State aforesaid, on the waters of Grassy Lick Creek and bounded as follows; Beginning at a set stone, corner with James Greene and George Hayden, thence N 30 3/4 E 36 4/10 poles to a stake in Creek near a Sugar tree, corner with George & John Hayden, thence S 81 3/4 E 22 4/10 poles to stone corner with David A Edmensen, thence N 19 1/4 W 55 poles to a set stone, corner with L.M. Greene, thence S 81 W 47 4/10 poles to a Stone in west side of road, Corner with Same, thence S 19 1/4 E 76 5/10 poles to the beginning; Containing Seventeen acres of Land The aforesaid tract or parcel of land is hereby sold and conveyed by the parties of the first part unto the party of the second part, to have and to hold the same forever with title of general warranty. In Testimony whereof, the parties of the first part have hereunto subscribed their names, the day and date first above written. William D Moore Talitha C Moore State of Kentucky Montgomery County} sct I, J.R. Garrett clerk of the Montgomery County Court, do certify that the foregoing deed from William D Moore and wife to L. M. Greene was on this day prodused to me in my county and acknowledged by William D Moore and Talitha C Moore to be their act and deed.Given under my hand this 12th September 1870. J.R. Green (which I certify is stamped with US Internal Revenue Stamps of the value of One dollar and Fifty cents, was on 12th September 1870 lodged in....... Notes in the margin on page 393 say: I acknowledge the receipt of all the unpaid amount named in this deed & hereby release all liens held on this land WD Moore Jany 4th 1871 Attest.
