Shirley Indenture: William & Angeline Moore, et al, to Josiah & Anna Davis Date: 20 February 1875 Deed Book 36 Page 233, 234, 235 This indenture made and entered into the 20th day of February AD 1875. Between William Moore and Angeline his wife of the county of Montgomery and State of Kentucky and John V Moore and Phoebe, his wife, Kelly Moore and Fanny, his wife, Kelly P Moore, Charles Harris and Nancy his wife, and James W Mitchell, and Rebecca his wife all of the County of Bourbon and State aforesaid of the first part and Josiah Davis and Anna his wife, Eaqually (sic) (they each one paying for same, equal amounts) of the county of Bourbon and State aforesaid of the second part-Witnesseth: That Said first party for and in consideration of Twenty Six Hundred and ninety nine and 28/100 dollars one half of which is in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the remaining half Secured to be paid by note on March 1st 1876. have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do grant and convey unto the Said Second party their heirs and assigns forever a tract of Forty three acres two roods and six poles of land Moore (sic) or less. Situate on the waters of Plum Lick Creek in Montgomery Co and State aforesaid and being a portion of the land of which John Moore Sr died Seized and possessed. Beginning at a place in the center of Plum Lick Pike on Harvey Wilson's line. Thence with with his line S 46 ½ degrees E 77 5/10 poles to a stone in line of John Butters heirs, thence with their line S 35 ¼ degrees W 57 72/100 poles to a Walnut tree corner to Same, thence N 56 degrees W 43 16/100 Poles to a white oak stump corner to same, thence S 35 ¾ degrees W 40 44/100 Poles to a stone near a dead Mulberry tree Corner to James W Mitchell thence with his line N 36 1/2 degrees W 55 6/100 Poles to the center of Pike a point in said line, thence with the center of said Pike N 54 7 1/2 degrees E 9 6/10 Poles to a place in Center of said Road, thence with the center of Same. I BF Wyatt, Clerk of the Montgomery County Court, do certify that the foregoing deed from Wm Moore & @ to Josiah davis & @ was duly acknowledged before Thos J Evans DC of bourbon County Ky.
