misspellings which I may or may not have noted by "sic", as I just sometimes

for the same name which I made no attempt to discern which was the correct

I G.L. Kirkpatrick clerk of the court for the aforesaid county and State 
certify that the foregoing deed to GW Downs was on the 7th day of Feby 1871 
produced to JB Garrett then clerk of the Montgomery County (Ky) Court as 
appears from the following letters and figures written on the back of said 
deed "Ack, by Eliza Reffitt Feby., 7th 1871 J.B. Garrett, clk., by E. E. 
Garrett, D. C. and that the aforesaid deed and this certificate are duly 
recorded in my office. 
 Witness my hand this 23rd day of May 1895
