MS SH18 H838 14 "Journal of the Rev'd Joseph P. Howe, Pastor of Springfield & Mount Sterling Churches, Kentucky With Marriages January 1816 to October 1826" This begins the second journal of the Rev. Joseph P. Howe. On the first page is glued a newspaper clipping containing various ads and a two-column report, dated July 2 and July 3, from France on the conflict between Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington. The report says that Bonaparte is at large and has asked the Duke of Wellington for a passport to transport himself to the United States. The Duke refused. One interesting ad follows: Lost in Paris or near that place on the Winchester road a drab Great Coat lined with yellow Flannel and has seen some service, the finder of the Coat shall be rewarded upon delivering it to Wm Garrard Jr. October 9th 1815 DANIEL GARRARD =============== (1) Sab., 7th of Jan'y, 1816, at the Academy, Mt.
