Shirley Relinquishment of Dower: Susannah Haynie in Deed between Richard Haynie to Mathew Thompson: Montgomery County KY Date: 16 June 1825 Deed Book 12 Page 12 State of Kentucky Clarke county} Sct We William F Hockaday and James Anderson Justices of the peace in and for the county aforesaid do Certify that Susannah Haynie the wife of Richard Haynie of said county county this day came personally before us and relinquished her right of dower in a tract of land Containing Two Thousand five hundred acres of Land lying in Montgomery County on the waters of Brush Creek and Sycamore granted to William Haynie by pattent dated the second day of december 1785 & conveyed to Mathew Thompson by deed bearing date the 16thday of November 1818 by Richard Haynie Edward A Whaly Nancy Whaly Joseph Thompson & Anna Thomson and recorded in the clerks Office of the Montgomery Court Court as appears from this certificate of M. Harrison Clerk of said County Court under date of the 23rd of November 1818 Certifying the Acknowegement of all the persons to the said deed subcribed the aforesaid Susanah Haynie wife of the said Richard &C having signed the said Deed of convayance And the said Susannah Haynie wife of the said Richard being now by us examined privily and apart from her said husband declared that she doth freely and voluntarily relinquish her right of dower to the same mentioned in the said deed of conveyance. And that she doth the same of her own free will and accord without the threats or persuasion of her said husband, and that she is willing this relinquishment Shall be committed to record Given under our hands this 16th day of June 1825.
