A native of Bath County, he was a son of the late Charles Clauda and Martha Fields Boyd. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Johnson Boyd, two sons, Charles and Coleman Boyd, a sister, Mrs. August Wilson, all of Mt. Sterling. Services were conducted by Rev. Larry Williams Monday afternoon at the Herald and Stewart Chapel. Burial was in Machpelap Cemetery, casket bearers were Clayton Foley, Arlie Patrick, Robert Browning, Jim McCarty, charles Browning, Clayton Patrick, Charles Henry, and Roland Boyd. Honorary bearers were Clarence Wilson, Charlie Turner, J. C. Ishmael, Lawrence Hovermale, Leo Jones, Clarence Palls and Charlie Browning.
