John Benton Fields Dies Last Saturday

John Benton Fields, 82, retired farmer, died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday at his home 
near Jeffersonville following a brief illness.

A native of Breathitt County, he was a member of the Old Salem Holiness Church 
and had many friends throughout this section.

He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Willie Smith and Mrs. Wes McGuire, both 
of Jeffersonville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Pearl Miller, Georgetown, Ohio; a son, 
Mose Fields, Denniston, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Botts Church in 
Menifee County by the Rev. Frank McGuire.  Buril was in the Helton Cemetery in 
Menifee County.

Additional Comments:
Exactly as is appears in the newspaper, even though the headline states he 
died on Saturday and the obituary says Sunday.
