Hastie, 71, of Winchester, a partner in Epp's Funiture Store, died at 10 a.m. Sunday in Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness. He was a native of Montgomery County, a member of the First Church and the Winchester Lions Club and was a veteran of world war 1. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lucile Booth Hastie; a son Jack Hastie; five sisters Mrs. C.A. Loudermilk and Miss Edna Hastie; Mrs. F.J. McKinley; Mrs. Newton Oakes, and Mrs. Gayle Browne; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Edington Funeral Home by Dr. Frank Tinder and the Rev. Allen C. Garner. Burial was in the Winchester Cemetery. Bearers were Tommy Mark, Gayle Whiteman, Emmett Pace, Ed Hastie, Ben Foley and C.J. Bridgewater. Honorary bearers were Hugh B. Todd. William Tipton, Newt Faulkner, Dr. George Horton. Dr. Thomas Hobbs, Charles McEuen Sr., Granver Anderson and elders and deacons of the First Christian Church.
