The death of young Helton makes the third victim of the deadly fire of "Bad Bill". Marion Stapleton, another deputy was killed instantly during the fight in which Helton was mortally wounded. The officers had gone to the home of Chas. Neal, whom Waters is charged with having murdered and buried, to investigate the alleged slaying when the fatal shooting occurred. The body of Neal has since been found near the home, buried under six inches of dirt. Waters gave himself up last week, was brought here and lodged in jail and later removed to the Lexington jail for safe keeping. Young Helton stood high in Menifee county and was said to be a splendid young man, quite popular with a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs Boone Helton. Funeral services will take place Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Chambers burial grounds.
