Sterling, KY., and appropriately named The News. The article was found in Lucy Lee Bailey's grandmother's Bible and passed along to Marna Hing of Lorane, Oregon. "Mr. & Mrs. M.C. Bailey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home, in this city, Wednesday, of this week, it being the last day of January (1905). They were married to each other fifty years ago, and their union has been blessed with ten children, nine daughters and one son. A large crowd of their friends gathered at their home Wednesday evening, bringing with them many costly presents. One valuable remembrance was twenty dollars in gold, given them by some of their friends, who combined their gifts. A most sumptuous meal was served at three o' clock and the entire crowd present partook of a most delicious feast. It was, indeed a most impressive occasion to see the favorite couple after two score and ten years of happy wedlock as they renewed their vows and again spoke of fidelity. The services were conducted by Rev. W.W. Powell, with most fitting ceremony, and with words of thanksgiving for their happy union."
