I Philip Cox of Montgomery County and state of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory although in much bodily affliction having the certainty of death before my mind and feeling disposed myself to dispose of what little worldly property I possess before my death I therefore make this my last will and testament. Item 1st My will is that my just debts be paid in the first place then after discharging and paying my debts, I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife the farm that I now reside on and all the personal property for the benefit of herself and my dearly beloved children so long as she remains my widow in that case or at her death my desire is that all the personal property and real estate be sold to the highest bidder and all my children to have an equal division, with the exception of my daughter Lucy, I give and bequeath to Lucy Hedges one dollar in silver to be paid in 12 months after my death. Item 2nd I nominate Margaret Cox my beloved wife my Administratrix to carry into effect this my last will and do at my death leave my property all in her hands to dispose of agreeable to this my will.
