Fairborn Daily Herald March 2, 1992

     Russell Williams, 81, of Fairborn, died Monday, March 2, 1992, in Miami 
Valley Hospital., Dayton. He had been an area resident since 1956. Mr. Williams 
was born May 3, 1910, in Magoffin County, Ky.; the son of George W. and 
Elizabeth (Jenkins) Williams.
     He was a retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co., and was also 
retired from the Universal Atlas Co. He was a charter member and deacon of 
Miami Valley United Baptist Church.
     He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mabel; three daughters and sons-in-
law, Betty L. and Ray McKinney of Southgate, Mich., Marie and Harley Allison 
and Pat and Bud Nickell, all of Fairborn; eight grandchildren; six great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 
parents; a sister, Ida O`Bryan and five brothers, Robert, Lundy, Frank, Lloyd 
and Toy.
     Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 
E. Main St., Fairborn. Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Miami 
Valley United Baptist Church, 550 Hyde Road, Fairborn, with Elder Doug Ward, 
Elder Luther Preston and brother Eddie Howard officiating. Burial will be in 
Byron Cemetary.
