Know all men by these presents that I Richard Tyler of the County of
Muhlenberg State of Kentucky hath bargained and sold unto William
Worthington of the County and State aforesaid, one Negro wench named Sharlot
and child named Luce. Aged twenty three years. For the sum of five hundred
and eighteen dollars. Which wench and child I do warrant and defend from all
personswhatever. The negroes is slaves during life. In witness whereof I do
bind myself, my Heirs, Executors, Administrators and assigns this seventh
day of October One thousand Seven hundred and ninety nine.
