Submitted by: Vera Burnham vburnham@worldpath.net Date: March 27, 2001 **************************************************************************** Jesse Oates to William Oates Microfilm # 554993 From Deed Book 1, Page 301 Feb. 28th day 1806 Know all men by these presents that I, Jesse Oates of Muhlenberg Co. and State of Kentucky, in consideration of the natural love and affection unto my beloved son William Oates, and other good causes, hereunto and by these presents do give, grant, and confirm unto the said William Oates and his heirs forever, one negro boy by the name of Owen, seventeen years of age, and a negro girl by the name of Zelpha, thirteen years of age, to have and to hold the said negros and enjoy all and singular the said negros forever and the said Jesse Oates do bind myself, my heirs and also give forever or any other person or persons laying any claim, or claims thereon and I, the said Jesse Oates do put the said William Oates in full possession by delivery of the above named negros at the time of the sealing and the delivery of these presents as witness my hand and seal this 22nd day of Febuary 1806.
