To wit: Muhlenberg County, State of Kentucky. Nancy or Anna Boggess Will Being present on the 14th day of April 1819 at the home of Lemuel Boggess where his mother lay on her death bed, she said it was her desire that if any thing was got of Brother William B. Smith's estate, Thomas Bells wife should have an equal part with the rest of her children. Dividing the same into nine parts, she Hanna Bell should have one part. Mrs. Boggess being asked if she was in her senses she answered she was and repeated the same Gift over again. By which sundry lands, Slaves and personal Estate which descended from her brother William Bailey Smith were to be equally divided between her children, Joel Boggess, Richard Boggess, William Boggess, Peter A. Boggess, Warren Boggess, Ellen Price, Lemuel Boggess, Robert Boggess and her grand daughter Hanna Bell, formerly Hanna Boggess. And as we are desirous to Carry the Will of said Anna or Nancy into effect with as little Expence and trouble as possible We do severally agree That this will shall be proved by whoever may Administer on the said Anns estate and be considered as her last Will and Testament and be as obligating on each of us as if the same Had been reduced to writing and tested agreeably to law.
