I Elish Downing of Muhlenberg County and State of Kentucky being weak in body but of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding. Considering the certainty of death and uncertainty thereof, do make this my Last Will and Testament, revoking and disannuling all others by me made. In manner and form following. To wit: First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned. As to debts, thank God I owe none. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son Stephen Downing four dollars and twenty five cents. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son John Downing four dollars twenty five cents. Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Downing Wife of Joseph Downing, my feather bead and furnature thereunto belonging. Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy(? or Francy?) late Nancy(?) Mezingo four dollars and twenty five cents. Item I give and bequeath unto my son William Downing and my son Bryan Downing all the plantation where I now live supposed to contain one hundred and forty six acres to be equally divided between said William and said Bryan. Lastly I constitute and appoint my son William Downing and my son Bryan Downing my Executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
