I William Sketoe of Muhlenberg County and State of Kentucky this 24th day of May one thousand eight hundred and Twenty four. Being in a low state of health but of perfect mind and memory. Callin to mind the Mortality of the body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. Principally and first of all I give My soul unto the hands of God that gave all and as for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of My Executor. Nothing Doubting that at the general resurrection I Shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of God that gave. And as touching such Worldly Estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I do give, devise and dispose of in the following manner. To Wit: It is my request and desire that all Just Debts against me be Justly paid and satisfied by my Executor which Shall be herein named. Secondly I do give and bequeath the Several tracts of land which I now possess as well as all my personal & real Estate to My beloved wife Jane(?) Sketoe. For and during her natural life or widowhood. But in case of her marriage She is to enjoy only one third part of said estate. Real and personal. Thirdly as I have given to my son William Sketoe a horse which he now has in possession , It is my desire that in addition thereunto, he shall have a bed at the death of my wife. Fourthly I bequeath to my grand Son Frederick Graddy at the death of My wife a bed and furnature. And as I have given to my Children, Christian Batz, Nancy Lott, Sally Sketoe, dec'd., Betsy Graddy, John Sketoe, Plesant Batz, Jane Stringer and Anita(?) Sketoe their full portion of my estate, It is my will and desire that they Shall have no more thereof. Fifthly I will and bequeath to my Daughter Keziah the rest of my estate, consisting of hogs, Lands, Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Hogs, household and kitchen furnature, together with farming utensils and all every species of property belonging to my Estate. Sixthly and last of all. I do by these presents nominate and appoint my friends Thomas Worthington and William Kinchloe Executors of this My last will and Testament, hereby revoking and disannuling any other former wills by me in any wise Made.
