Contributed by: Vera Burnham vburnham@worldpath.net Date: October 12, 2000 **************************************************************************** Source: microfilm copy of Will Book 2, 1814-29, page 16 In the name of God Amen, I, Samuel Tharp of the County of Muhlenberg, and State of Kentucky, being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God; calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament; that is to say, Principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in decent Christian burial, at the discretion of my Executrix nothing doubting but that, at the General resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give, Devise, and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First I will that all my just dues and lawful debts be paid. And secondly I will that my beloved wife Jane, have the full and free use of all my goods and chattles, household furniture, and whatsoever else appertains, or in anywise belong to my estate, during her natural life. And at her death that an equal division of the estate, little or much, be ******* between Anne Hunsaker and Nancy Hunsaker by them and their heirs freely to be enjoyed forever. And I do constitute, ordain and appoint my beloved wife Jane Tharp, sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. And I do hereby utterly disallow, Revoke and disannull all and every other testaments, Wills, legacies, bequests and executions by me in anywise before named Wills bequeath**. Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of March, 1815.
