DEED: Isaac Kurtz to Joseph Brown, 1848, Spencer/Nelson Co., KY

25 Jan 1848  Spencer Co. Deed Book H. p. 50   ISAAC KURTZ of the County of Spencer of the 
first part to JOSEPH BROWN of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky of the second part. 
 Witnesseth that whereas the said BROWN stands bound as Security for the said KURTZ to 
WILLIAM BURKE in a note for the sum of one hundred and thirty Dollars with interest from the 
 (left blank) 1847 also in a note to BENJAMIN L. McATEE, Executor of JESSE McDONNALL 
for eighty five Dollars forty two cents with Interest from the 1st October 1847 and the said 
KURTZ being anxious to secure himself and indemnify Said BROWN in his said liability as 
Security as aforesaid and for the further consideration of One Dollar to me the said KURTZ 
in hand paid by S’d BROWN.  Now for and in consideration of the premises I the said KURTZ 
have bargained and sold and by these presents convey a certain negro boy named TARLTON  
three years old in April 1848.
