Subject: Deed:  CARPENTER, WELLS, RUSH, LEE, SUMMERS

Whereas in the suit in Chancery in Bullitt Circuit Court wherein William LEE  
was complainant and Joel CARPENTER's heirs and Thomas CARPENTER's heirs were 
defendants, the Court by its decree in said Cause of the 10th July 1844 
decreed and ruled that the said Defendants should Convey to the said Complt. 
Wm. LEE the land in the bill described in the deed filed from Daniel KING to 
Joel CARPENTER dated 16 March 1821 by quit claim deed, and in their failure 
to do so Noah C. SUMMERS, Commissioner by said decree named should convey 
Said land for them to LEE .

This Indenture made 28th day of August 1844 between   Joseph CARPENTER, and 
George T CARPENTER heirs of Thomas CARPENTER dec'd paid and said Jefferson 
CARPENTER, Madisen CARPENTER, Wilhite CARPENTER, James RUSH and Lucinda his 
wife late CARPENTER, Vardeman WELLS and Lucy Ann WELLS his wife, late 
CARPENTER, Juli Ann and Kitty Eliza CARPENTER, heirs of said Joel CARPENTER 
dec'd by the said Noah C. SUMMERS Commissioner for them have sold and 
confirmed to the said William LEE said land.
