The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************* Virginia Grant Josiah Lee Nelson County, KY Book 9 Page 643 FHC #0272814 Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by Virtue and in consideration of part of a Land office Treasury warrant No 11694 Issued the 17th day of April 1782 There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Josiah Lee a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred acres by survey bearing date the 26th day of December 1785 lying and being in the County of Nelson on _____ _____ South _____ of the _____ fork and bounded as followeth, to wit Beginning at two large poplars and blue ash at the foot of the hills on the lower side of bear run about three hundred and eighty poles above the mouth running thence South seventy degrees East one hundred and twenty seven poles to a white oak white ash and poplar on the point of a ridge Crossing bear run at twenty poles Thence North twenty degrees East one hundred and twenty seven poles to a white oak and sugar tree thence North seventy degrees West one hundred and twenty seven poles to a black oak white oak and Spanish oak on the lower bank of Bear run thence South twenty degrees West one hundred and twenty seven poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Josiah Lee and his Heirs forever. In witness whereof the said Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twenty third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight and of the Commonwealth the twelfth.
