Cook and McDowell Record of the County Militia. "A record of the 
proceedings of Court Martials in Washington County including the Fourth 
Regiment. It is a book of some 200 pages written with pen and ink in a very 
fine hand and covers the activities of the Second Battalion of Nelson Militia 
from July 1791 to the month of Sep 1792 and from thence records the 
proceedings of the Washington Militia to the summer of 1813. The entries 
follow:"

JOHN PHILLIPS in his behalf. The Court upon examination are of the opinion
he shall be cleared of said charge.
