Welsh George Tom ROGAN, 78, of Fairfield, died Feb. 25, 1999, at his residence. He was a native of Nelson County, a farmer, an army veteran of WWII where he received the purple heart and a member of St. Michael Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary JONES ROGAN; a son, George Tom ROGAN Jr; a sister, Martina ROGAN; a brother Charles ROGAN. Survivors include his wife, Lina EVANS ROGAN; a daughter, Jean Marie ROGAN of Louisville; three sons, Joe ROGAN of Glasgow, John ROGAN of Cox's Creek, Jim ROGAN of Bardstown; five grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Rose Imelda ROGAN O.P., and Sister Mary ROGAN O.P. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Father Joe BATCHELDOR and Father Al HARTLAGE will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitaton will be today from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Houghlin Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County.
