Contributed by Pat45324@aol.com Date: 24 Sept 2000 ***************************************************************************** Obit: Betty Jean Stone, d. 1997, Nelson Co., KY Betty Jean Stone, 60, of Bloomfield died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997, at the residence of her daughter in Springfield after an illness. She was the former Betty Burgin, daugher of the late Dennis and Georgia Case Burgin, a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Frankfort and Springfield Redrying Co., and a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church-Disciples of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Stone; a daughter, Sandra Gail Case; and a brother, Raymond Burgin. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Brenda) Burkhead of Springfield, Mrs. Danny (Charlotte) Howard of Louisville, Mrs. William (Betty) Burgen of Bardstown; two sisters, Fida Elizabeth Blanton of Bloomfield and Kathryn Hardin of Mount Washington; a brother, Carl Burgin of Springfield; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at 1. p.m. at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Services will be conducted by Bro. Larry Wilson, pastor of the Springfield Christian Church, and by Bro. Alan Bailey, pastor of the Bloomfield Christian Church-Disciples of Christ. Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The family requests that memoiral donations be made to Hospice of Central Kentucky, 105 Diecks Drive, Elizabethtown. Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of the arrangements.
