Sat, 23 Jan 1999 Submitted by: BLTDEFORD@aol.com (Theodora DeFord) WILL: Fulkerson, 1807 - Nelson Co In the name of God Amen, I Fulkard Fulkerson of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky being very weak, but perfect in memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and bequeath in the following manner. First I give to my dearly beloved wife Mary Fulkerson all and every of my moveable effects freely, by her to be professed and enjoyed. Secondly 450 acres of land to be equally divided among my children. Also I constitute my sons Jacob and Philip Fulkerson executors of this my last will and testament and I do Hearby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other testament Wills Legacies and executors by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Tenth day of February in the Year of our Lord on Thousand seven and Ninety seven. Fulkard Fulkerson signed sealed published and pronounced by the said Fulkard Fulkerson as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names Ben Singleton Richard McKay George Neal At a County Court held for Nelson County of Monday the thirteeth day of December 1807 This last Will and Testament of Fulkard Fulkerson was proved by the oaths of Richard McKay and George Neal two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and sworn by Philip Fulkerson one of the executors therein named and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of said executor certificate is granted him for obtaining probate thereof in due form he having given bond with Richard McKay and George O'Neal his securities in the penalty of one Thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs.
