Will Book D p. 160 In the name of God Amen. I THOMAS NEWMAN of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory recommending my soul to god who gave it and my body to be decently interred in a christianlike manner, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First I give and bequeath to my son ISAAC NEWMAN two hundred acres of land south side of Green river which he now lives on Having paid the commonwealth for the same and permitted him to take a patent of the commonwealth for the same. Secondly I give and bequeath to my son THOMAS NEWMAN four hundred acres lying on Rough Creek which I purchased of WILLIAM LOVE, commissioner appointed by the Circuit Court of Grayson County to sell at publick sale all the right title and interest which JACOB LINDER held on the said tract of land for said LINDER benefit be the same more or less. Thirdly. I give and bequeath to my son GEORGE NEWMAN two hundred acres of land lying in Hardin County where he now lives and seventy four dollars to be paid by JACOB and JOHN, JACOB to pay Fifty dollars and JOHN twenty five to make GEORGES deficit in land equal to their own. Fourthly. I give and bequeath to my two Sons JACOB and JOHN after my wifes decs. (death?) the plantation whereon I now live to be equally divided between them with a line that runs across the creek but should any of this tract of land be taken by a better claim then in that case both of them are to divide the loss equally. Fifthly I give and bequeath to my daughter NANCY two hundred and twenty five dollars. Sixthly I give and bequeath to my daughter ELIZABETH two hundred and twenty five dollars. Seventhly. I give and bequeath to my daughter MARY two hundred dollars. Eighthly I give and bequeath to my daughter SARAH two hundred dollars Ninethly. I give and bequeath to my daughter LYDDA two hundred dollars. Tenthly I give and bequeath to my daughter RACHEL two hundred dollars. Eleventh. The foregoing legacies reserved in money are to be paid over at the decease of my beloved wife. Twelfth. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife all the residue of my estate mixed real and personal during her natural life and after her decease to be equally divided amongst all my children. I appoint my wife MARY NEWMAN my executor and GEORGE & JACOB NEWMAN my sons to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
