KY Will Book D p. 119 In the name of God Amen I JOSEPH SETTLE of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky being week in body but of disposing mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed to all men Once to die and after that the Judgment do command my body to the grave to be buried by my Executors in a Christian like manner and as for my worldly estate with which it hath ---- please God to bless me it is my wish that they should be disposed of in the following manner vis. Item. the first I give and bequeath to my loving wife SUSANAH the plantation whereon I now live during her Single life with the liberty of cuting timber or firewood on any part of my land for the use of that s’d plantation. Item the Second. I also give to my loving wife two horses, her choice of my stock also four cows and calves and six d-y (sixty?) cattle her choice of my stock also twelve sheep her choice of my stock also twenty four hogs choice of my stock and all the stock of provisions that may be on hand and all the grain that may be growing or S----- on the plantation at my death and all my household and kitchen furniture estate to be sold by my executors and after paying any just debts to pay to my son WILLIAM ten dollers and my daughter RACHEL ten dollers, MIMA (?) ten dollars and ANN forty dollers the remainder to be equally divided among my children or their decendents, and I also hereby appoint my Sons JOEL SETTLES and JAMES SETTLES my Sole Executors to execute this my last will and testament hearby revoking all wills heretofore made by me.
