KY Will Book C p. 499 In the name of God Amen I JOHN TENNELL of Nelson County and State of Kentucky being weak in body but Sound in mind and of good memory do make and constitute this my last will & Testament revoking all other of the like nature. First I recommend my soul to God my redeemer and my body to be decently buried and after my funeral expences is paid and all other Just debts paid and collected do dispose of my estate in the folloiwng manner. Item. I give and bequeath to my loving wife CATY TENNELL the tract of land on which I now live and will all its appurtainances together with the live stock of every kind the house hold and kitchen furniture and farming utensils to have and to hold in quiet and peaceable possession during her natural life. Item. I Give and bequeath to my wife CATY four slaves named as follows: Negro ROSE, Negroe HARRY, Negroe CHARLES, and Negroe MARIAH To have and to hold during her natural life. Item. I give and bequeath to my son GEORGE TENNELL one Negroe boy named SAMUEL. Item. I give and bequeath to my son DANIEL one Negroe boy named ROBERT. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter MARGARET GIST one Negro Girl named LACE. Item. I give and bequeath to my son HUGH one Negroe Boy named JESS. Item. I give and bequeath to my son BENJAMIN one Negro boy named JOHN. Item. I Give and bequeath to my son FRANCIS the tract of land on which I now live containing one hundred and ten acres after the death of my wife CATY. Item. I GIve and bequeath to my son SAMUEL one negroe Boy named ENOCH. It is my will and desire that my wife or executors shall pay out of the estate left her one Bed and Furniture to each of my sons FRANCES and BENJAMIN. It is my will and desire that after the death of my wife CATY that all the property except the land and two beds devised to her be sold and the money equally divided between my seven children to wit, GEORGE, DANIEL, MARGARET, HUGH, FRANCES, SAMUEL and BENJAMIN. I do appoint my loving wife CATY together with my son HUGH TENNELL and son at law WILLIAM GIST to be the sole executors of this my last will and testament made in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen. KY a Samuel TENNELL m. Jane SMITHERS 25 Feb 1808 Nelson Co. KY a Francis TENNELL m. Mrs. Patsey TUBMAN 28 Mar 1822 in Washington Co. KY - I suspect she was the widow of John TUBMAN as he had married a Patsy CHEATHAM 15 Oct 1809 in Washington County, Kentucky a Peggy GIST m. William WATSON 24 May 1814 who MIGHT be the Margaret above on a 2nd marriage but I have no clue.
