[Luke Collier lived his entire life in Nicholas Co. Born 5 Oct., 1816 and died 14
April, 1897. His parents were Hamlett Collier and Elizabeth Towler.
Hamlett Collier died in Nicholas Co. in 1835. Luke Collier married Susan Lee Monson on
22 Feb. 1842, in Nicholas Co. They had the following children:
1) Elizabeth Margaret, mar. Robert Chaney, 14 Oct., 1869, Nicholas Co.; 2) John
Hamlett Collier, mar. Rachel Lou Ishmael, 18 Nov.,1869, Nicholas Co.;
3) Nathaniel Fox Collier, mar. Nancy A. Collier; 4)Edmond M., didn't marry; 5) James
William [my ancestor], b. Catherine A. McNamara, 24 July, 1879,
Bourbon Co.-- to Saline Co., Mo. and Kansas City,Mo.; 6) Thomas Henry Collier, mar.
Nancy E. Current, 26 Sept., 1878; 7)Robert Mason Collier, mar. Sue Anna
Hardy, 17 Nov., 1897, Nicholas Co.; 8)Joseph L., died as an infant].

LUKE COLLIER BIBLE RECORD [From Collier Family file, Library of the Kentucky
Historical Society, 100West Broadway, Frankfort, Ky. 40602. Notice that at
the beginning, it mentions the name of Sarah Lee Collier Toadvine. She was the
daughter of Robert Collier, mentioned above. Her daughter, Susan Dailey,
lives in Cynthiana, Ky.,  and she kept the genealogical record in the bible. The
record mentions a Charles Collier, servant. Susan Dailey said he was the
son of one of the Collier slaves, who was taken to town by his mother when the Civil
War ended, but returned a few days later and lived on the Luke
Collier farm the rest of his life]. Bible owned by Mrs. Sarah Lee Collier Toadvine,
Route 4, Carlisle, Ky.,published by the American Bible Society 1872--
