L. Baskin & Co., Chicago, 1882. p. 784. [Nicholas County] [Ellisville Precinct] S. G. WASSON, farmer, P. O. Carlisle, was born in Nicholas County, Ky., April 17, 1837, son of Charles J. and Nancy (Waugh) Wasson; he, a farmer and carpenter, dying in 1866, aged sixty-six; she, a native of Nicholas County; they were the parents of seven children. Our subject began life as a farmer, in which he continued; has served as School Trustee. Sept. 6, 1871, in Carlisle, Mr. Wasson married Miss Pencila McCuan, daughter. of Robert and Rachel (Campbell) McCuan; five children have blessed this union, viz: Mollie P., Thomas M., Annie M., Eliza B. and Nancy Ange. Self and wife are members of the Christian Church, and he is a Democrat.
