The Howe family purchased their farm from the Thomas family in the mid 1800’s. This farm adjoined the land of Ulrich Huffstutter and today the Evans farm contains the original Huffstutter farm. Mary Ann Evans is a descendant of Ulrich Huffstutter. NOTES ON THE HOWE FAMILY: Dunlap Howe, born Jan 1801 Fleming Co., and died June 30, 1852. Married Antha (or Anna) Hall, born 1799, Bourbon Co. and died Aug 15,1875. There are numerous small fieldstone markers for graves. These are rough hewn and about twelve inches above the ground with no lettering. The area is heavily overgrown with lots of thorny bushes! Those stones that were decipherable: Leanne Howe J.C.
