DEED: Abraham DARLAND (Dorland) to Phillip BELLIS 25 January 1830 (One acre and a half and 30 poles on Somerset Creek) Nicholas County Court Record Book I, page 7. This Indenture, made this 25th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred & thirty, between Abraham Dorland of the County of Nicholas and the state of Kentucky of the one part, and Phillip Bellis of the county and state aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, That the said Abraham Dorland for, and in consideration of the sum of Thirty three Dollars and 75 cts. current money of the United States, to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents, doth grant, bargain, sell & convey to the said Phillip Bellis, his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of Land, situate, lying and being in the county of Nicholas, on Somerset, containing one acre and a half and thirty poles, & bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stone and appletree (sic), corner to Bellis, joining the mill yard, thence East twenty poles to a stake and appletree, near a drain; thence North, twenty poles to a stake; thence West to a sugar tree, stump or stake, seven poles; thence south twenty poles to the beginning: To Have and To Hold the tract hereby conveyed, with all its appurtenances, unto him, the said Phillip Bellis, his heirs and assigns forever; and the said Abraham Dorland and Sally his wife, their heirs, Executors and administrators doth, and will warrant and forever defend the premises hereby conveyed, unto the said Phillip Bellis, his heirs and assigns, against them, the said Abraham Dorland and Sally his wife, and his heirs, and all, and every person, or, persons whatsoever, claiming under, through or by them; but not against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever.
