Coleman A. Collier's Company, part of the first regiment of Kentucky Volunteers. Most if not all of the men were living in Nicholas County at the time of their enlistment. Abraham Weaver was in service from August 15, 1812 until March 4, 1813. His pay was $6.66 per month, but on January 1, 1813 got a pay raise to $8.00 per month. Total pay was $47.29. Capt. Collier's Company was engaged in battle with the British and Indian forces at the second battle at River Raisin on January 22, 1813 (near present day Monroe, Michigan). His Company was part of the approximately 550 men that were taken prisoner. The men were released on or about February 14, 1813 and returned home and mustered out of service on March 4, 1813 Additional Comments: Muster and payroll records for the war of 1812 are available only by written request and are on file at the National Achieves.
