She was born in Menifee County, a daughter of the late George & Henrietta Igo Hines. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Bourbon Laundry and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and walking and, at age 80, she walked in the Bluegrass 10,000. Survivors include: two daughters - Nancy (& Robert) Gee of Lexington and Elaine (& Mike) Stephens of Louisville; two sisters-in-law - Harriet Cavanaugh of Lexington and Lucy Marium Payne; two granddaughters - Sheri (& Rusty) Darby of Versailles and Amy Marie (& Alex) Scholtz, Shelbyville; two great-grandchildren - Meagan and Heather Darby, Versailles; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband Lee Clayton Cavanaugh; two brothers - John & George Hines; and a sister - Ann Hines Jordan. Services conducted Tuesday, November 11, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home with Bro. Don Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Paris Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Morrison, Billy Jordan, Bill Cavanaugh, Donnie Hines, Ron Dennis, Tommy Hines and Jim Richardson. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Emily Smith Sunday School Class, Garlon Jordan, Jr., and R.S. Cavanaugh. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Alzheimer's Association.
