Will Book C, Page 451 Written: May 1, 1837 In the name of God amen! I Daniel SMITH of the county of Nicholas and state of Kentucky, being weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory, and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following. 1st- After my decease I wish all my debts of every description that may be fairly and justly brought brought against me, including my board and nursing, with my burial expenses, shall be paid. Item 2- I give to my daughter Mary HOWSE one hundred and fifty dollars. 3rd- To my daughter Nancy KILLAM (KELLAM) I give one hundred and fifty dollars. 4th- I give one hundred and twenty dollars to Mary SMITH, widow of my son Nathan SMITH, to be put to the use of schooling the children of my son Nathan SMITH. 5th- I give to Jetson SMITH my bed and its furniture, and my wearing clothes. 6th- To my two grandsons John DICKERSON and Nathan DICKERSON I give the residue of my estate. And lastly I hereby appoint Jetson SMITH the executor of this my last will and testament, revoking all others, as witness my hand and seal this the 1st day of May, 1837.
