Tinsley. John Emberton was born 3 December 1878 in Henderson County and was a son of Daniel P. Emberton, who also came to this vicinity. Our subject (John Emberton) was raised in Henderson County. He and his sister, Mrs. (John) Malinda (Emberton) Canary and her children; Martin, Nora, Garnel and Victoria resided together. Mrs. Canary died 13 January 1936, at the age of 68. Victoria married September 27, 1921 Lennie Tichenor, died before 1935, buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Hartford, Ohio County, Kentucky; there were no children. NORA married Gilbert Fuqua. Mrs. Canary's daughters are also deceased. Mr. Emberton resided on the farm in the "bottoms" which he purchased from J. W. Stroube and his wife, the former Maggie Chinn, for a number of years. In 1943 he traded farms with Charlie McConnell. He was an active member of the No Creek Church, dying 14 February 1946. His widow, the former Edith Carter, of near Centertown and lives on her farm near Beda. Marriages Ohio County, Kentucky 50/237: J. B. His parents D. P. Emberton and Julia Denham; hers, Lige Carter and Effie Tooley. The Ohio County News, 15 February 1946: LIFE ENDS FOR JOHN B. EMBERTON, 68. John Bedford Emberton, 68, Mt. Hermon, died at the Crowder Clinic at 1 p.m., February 14. The son of Daniel P. and Julia Ann Emberton, he was born December 3, 1878 in Henderson County. He was married to Edith Carter. He was a member of No Creek Church. Survivors include his widow, one sister, Mrs. P. A. Canary of Bowling Green, and two nephews, Martin and Garnell Canary, city. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., February 16, at Mt. Hermon, with the Rev. Hugh Delaney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
