Know all men by these presents that we John Underwood and John Lonney are held and 
firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal sum of fifty pounds 
current money for the true payment whereof we bind ourselves our Heirs and jointly and 
surely? firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dates this 2 day of August 
1827.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage 
intended to be solmnized between said John Underwood and Lucinda Campbell

Now if there should be no lawful cuase to obstruct said marriage then the above 
obligation to be paid else covering? in full force.

    To any minister of the Gospel or other person legally authorized to celebrate the 
rites of matrimony These are to License and permit you to join in marriage John 
Underwood and Lucinda Campbell the mother of  the said Lucinda having given her 
consent to said intended marriage and  a bond with sufficient security having been 
entered into in my office  Given under my hand as clerk of the Court for the County 
aforesaid at the clerks office 2nd of August 1827.

Mr. Henderson sir this is to certify that I am willing for you to ishue licens to John 
Underwood and to Lucinda Campbell given under my hand and sele  this the 2th day of 
August 1827

license to John Underwood and to Lucinda Campbell giving under our hands this and seal 
this the 2th day of August 1827
