DAVIS was born in Oldham County, Ky., in 1853, a son of W. T. and Lucretia (Barnhill) Davis. The former was born and reared in Shelby County, and is now one of the largest cattle traders and dealers in Oldham County. Mrs. Lucretia Davis is a daughter of Joseph Barnhill, who came from Virginia. Our subject was born and reared on a farm, the pursuits of which he has always successfully followed, and now owns 193 acres of valuable land five miles from La Grange, on the Smithfield and Ballardsville Pike. In 1875 he married Miss Annie Goodridge, daughter of James E. Goodridge, of Smithfield, Henry County, one of the leading farmers and stock traders of that section. To Mr. and Mrs. Davis three children has been born: Fleet and William T. living, and Maggie L., who died in infancy. Mr. Davis has been a member of the Methodist Church for nine years.
